20 Watt DC/DC converter of the ESBN series
Instead of offering 15 watts in a 2 "x1" case like many well-known competitors, there is the new generation of Powergood with 20 watts in the 50% smaller 1" x 1" x 0.4" (25.4 mm x 25.4 mm x 12.7 mm) format and industry standard pinning.
The ESBN series is encapsulated in a six-sided metal housing and operates at a fixed switching frequency, resulting in excellent
EMC values with optimum thermal performance. As input voltage ranges with an extremely wide 4:1 range there are different types with 9-36, 18-75 or 40-160 VDC in combination with the following output voltages: 3.3, 5, 12, 15, ±12 and ±15 VDC. The input/output isolation is 2250 VDC. Due to the very high efficiency of up to 89% the devices operate between -40°C and +60°C without derating, the maximum operating temperature TC is -40°C to +100°C. The
MTBF of ≥2,000,000 hours @50°C GB (BellCoreTR-332) is the result of the consistent elimination of ELKOs or other capacitors that limit the service life. Comprehensive features such as remote on/off converter shutdown, output voltage adjustability (within ±10% at trimming pin), output current limitation, short circuit protection, overvoltage protection (at output) and undervoltage shutdown (at input) ensure trouble-free operation even under the harshest environmental conditions. The extremely compact dimensions and the extremely high power density result in a high space saving on your board.
